The story of Blue Deal traces its roots back to the 1990s. At that time, Joe Fischer (the band’s leader) was working quite successfully with the Cadillac Blues Band, a group that experienced its moment of glory on European and American stages, notably during a tour in 1996 that remains memorable. This adventure lasted nearly 25 years (until 2014), giving him time to “explore the subject” and open up to new projects.
With this prominent musical background, Joe Fischer embarked on multiple projects, moving from one band to another in search of THE lineup that would allow him to shape all these musical ideas. Tours were organized, notably in Scotland, which over the years and annual tours became a second home for the group. In the summer of 2020, the first version of Blue Deal was born with the arrival of the brilliant young guitarist Tom Vela, drummer Jürgen Schneckenburger, and bassist Norbert Roth (replaced in 2022 by Martin Bürger).
Shortly after, the band recorded their first album (“Holy Ground”) during the summer of 2021, which finally saw the light of day in September 2022.
The album’s release didn’t go unnoticed, with Blue Deal receiving praise from critics and even a full page on Tom Vela in the prestigious German magazine “Guitar”.
In 2023, following another Scottish tour, the quartet quickly moved on to writing a new album, which they recorded during the summer. Just in time to participate in the German Blues Challenge in September, which they won hands down, earning the right to represent their country at the International Blues Challenge in
Memphis and the European Blues Challenge in Braga, Portugal.
While reaching the semi-final at the IBC in Memphis in January 2024, eliminating many seasoned American blues bands along the way, Blue Deal and Dixiefrog decided to join forces for the release of “Can’t Kill Me Twice” their second album to date. An album that Blue Deal will defend on the stage of the European Blues
Challenge in Braga in early April. “Can’t Kill Me Twice” undoubtedly marks the rise of a future major player in European blues. Building on an impeccable rhythm section, Blue Deal reinforces Joe Fischer’s vocal accuracy (whose voice is reminiscent of his idol Paul Rodgers) and the extraordinary talent of guitarist Tom Vela, who also produced the album.
But what strikes even more is the melodic power of the compositions. Whether navigating through very rootsy waters (the catchy “Got 2 Go”), blues-rock (“Favorite Mistake”), rock (“Short Time Runner”), or even funky (“Hard Times”), it all flows effortlessly, like a kind of melodic certainty! Just like the nods to Eric Clapton (“Seen To Be Believed” which bears resemblance to “Old Love”) or Jimi Hendrix (“1942”), which betray artistic references that no one will complain about !

Blues-Rock from 'Southern Black Forest'
En remportant le ‘German Blues Challenge’ en 2023, Blue Deal a été désigné comme le meilleur groupe de blues en Allemagne.

En janvier 2024, le groupe a atteint la demi-finale de l »International Blues Challenge’ à Memphis (USA) et a représenté l’Allemagne en avril lors du ‘European Blues Challenge’ à Braga (Portugal).

Tom Vela compte actuellement parmi les meilleurs guitaristes de la ‘New Blues Generation’ en Allemagne.
La synergie avec Jürgen Schneckenburger, Martin Bürger et l’ancien maître Joe Fischer (ancien Cadillac Blues Band) fait de Blue Deal un projet innovant et intergénérationnel.
